Utilities Excavation For Bridge Reinforcement

When extensive refurbishment works were underway recently to improve rail services, contractors also took the opportunity to strengthen an existing bridge.

With numerous utilities buried under the bridge’s road surface including gas, water, electric and telecommunication lines, the safest option for utility excavation was needed.

Our vacuum excavator provided the ideal solution to expose these buried assets, and allow contractors to lay new bridge reinforcements. Vacuum excavation was specifically chosen as the equipment is less intrusive compared with traditional options, reducing the risk of damage to the bridge structure and buried services.

Operators excavated metres and metres of ground to safely expose all services lines – completing work without any delays or damage to the bridge.
